In the personal philosophy paper, students will critically reflect on the knowledge they have gained from this course and the impact it has had on the values, attitudes, and beliefs they hold about people with disabilities. Students are asked to use specific examples of how the concepts covered in the course (e.g. sterilization, abuse, human rights, service models, employment programs, etc.) have influenced their perceptions of people with disabilities and their own role as a professional within the field of disability services.Use the following questions to guide your answers on this assignment. In order to begin to describe your personal/professional philosophy, answer the following:What were my values, beliefs, and attitudes regarding people with disabilities before I took this course? What are my values, beliefs, and attitudes regarding people with disabilities now that I’ve completed this course? What concepts, stories, activities, or information motivated a change in my values, beliefs, and attitudes about people with disabilities?
