All humans have the ability to form relationships basedon their childhood experiences. A child’s first bond once out of the womb isthe relationship between that child and their caregiver. The bond between achild and a parent can influence a child’s future development, behavior and howthey form personal relationships. Attachment styles can be characterized by differentways of interacting and behaving in relationship. Throughout early childhoodthese attachment styles are centered on a parent and a child interaction. Thereare four different attachment styles secure, anxious-ambivalent, anxious avoidantand disorganized style. The mostimportant tenet is that young children need to develop a relationship with oneprimary caregiver for normal social and emotional development.
