Identify at least two inequities faced by African Americans prior to the start of the Civil Rights movement in the mid 20th Century.

Last week, we examined the lives of African Americans from their earliest days in the American Colonies through post-Civil War reconstruction. Unfortunately, the end of the Civil War did not end the oppression of African Americans. This week we investigate the legacy of oppression, between the late 1800’s through the 1980’s and the effects of this oppression on African-Americans living in this era. Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:
1. Identify at least two inequities faced by African Americans prior to the start of the Civil Rights movement in the mid 20th Century. Why do you believe they faced these inequities?2. What do they tell us about that time in American history? How are they echoed in modern American society?3. How might our society address these inequities?
