Understanding Youself

Understanding yourself is the first step to managing others in the workplace. One of the concepts discussed in Chapter 3 is locus of control. Locus of control is the extent to which people believe their behavior has a real effect on what happens to them. Some people believe that if they work hard they will succeed. They may also believe that people who fail do so because they lack ability or motivation. Before starting this assignment, asking yourself these questions related to a current or past work situation:
What do you believe about yourself?
How much control do you believe you have over your future success in the workplace?
