Corruption is highlighted in the readings as a serious problem that must be addressed by prison and jail managers. This problem is, in part, caused by the confinement context of corrections which increases the potential for inappropriate staff and inmate relationships.The ideas of criminal justice ethicist Sam Souryal are discussed in the text and he recommends several ways corrections administrators can address this problem.
